Additionally, I am also happy to take a look at a one-page synopsis of the manuscript as a whole, and offer suggestions or praise as required.

Web/Serial Novel & Chapter-by-Chapter Editing

Are you working on a serial novel and releasing chapters regularly? It can be difficult to maintain quality control with such tight turnarounds, and most editors will only look at the manuscript as a whole.

That’s where I come in. I’m happy to work on a chapter-by-chapter basis, and will look at big picture plot and character things (including keeping track of character names and details, as well as locations and timelines). Plus, I’ll take a look at line-level details and fix typos, grammatical errors and any internal inconsistencies.

Bonus—this can be a huge source of motivation. Not only will you have someone you can bounce ideas around with, but you’ll also have an encouraging editor to keep you accountable with your publishing schedule.

$0.05 AUD per word. Turnaround is within 1 week. For 1–2 day turnaround times, priority fee is applicable.

Sensitivity Reading

Are you worried you’ve overstepped the line somehow? Or just want another person’s eye cast over your work? You may be looking for a sensitivity reader.

A sensitivity reader is someone who reads a piece of writing to see if it is in any way offensive in specific aspects. They don’t perform any edits or provide any suggestions or advice EXCEPT as it pertains to the sensitivity reading.

As a gay Australian man, I offer sensitivity reading for authors wanting to make sure any gay characters are represented accurately and/or any Australian characters and settings have taken into account our unique culture and landscape. I perform sensitivity reading on all genres of fiction, including mm romance from closed door to extra spicy.
